FREEMAN HAS BEEN ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION

Freeman has returned to the city, quietly and without fuss. And he wants it to stay that way. His reasons for leaving in the first place were personal, but it turns out he’s been missed by more people than he thought: by his ex-wife, his ex-lover and his ex-business partner. One wants friendship, another one intimacy: the third one just wants him to get the hell out again. The question is: why has he come back at all?

It seems he’s on a private job – or maybe a mission - but he’s not a man to share information easily. Freeman is very private, very controlled, and he insists he hasn’t got the time or the appetite to look for trouble. But when he meets lively, amoral Kit & strikes up an unusual and ill-advised friendship with the young man, it looks like trouble has come looking for him. And Freeman knows when it’s time to face a challenge rather than step away again.

The relationship between them develops slowly into something far more than casual, both of them scared yet thrilled by it in their own way. Two very different men, and neither of them is operating independently; both of them have secrets to hide that can destroy the fragile trust they’ve built. Whether they can find something lasting between them depends on whether Freeman can risk stepping back into life – and whether that’ll be in time to save both him and Kit.

This is marvellous news, I'm very excited and proud and really looking forward to working with MLR Press! I don't have any further details yet - proposed release date etc - but I'll keep you posted.
